Regardless of your physical condition or sports interests, the fitness center is a must to visit. Featuring Hammer Strength and Cybex weight machines and a large assortment of free weights are there for those with strength training and muscle-toning in mind.
The cardiovascular room is filled with stair-steppers, treadmills, incumbent bikes and cross trainers. Each machine is fitted with cardio-theater featuring cable television and satellite radio. Both gymnasiums are the perfect place for a serious basketball game or just to go and shoot a few "hoops." The men's and ladies' locker rooms have a full compliment of daily use lockers, showers, and sauna.
Wally ball and racquetball courts are in high demand, so advance reservations assure equal usage by all. Lighted and marked outdoor walking/running trails begin at the fitness center and wind through the parks, base housing and around the base lake for a variety of scenery while enjoying exercise. Additional outdoor facilities include softball fields, a sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits, soccer, and football field.
An extensive intramural and extramural sports program is offered throughout the year, along with monthly special events and quarterly incentive programs. These events include volley ball, basketball, and football tournaments, 5K fun runs/walks, weight lifting competitions and Special Olympic events.
